Give it a shot of power and put it in neutral
In Response To: same problem ()

Ours doesn't back for s--t. goes where it wants but if I try a rear burst and then neutral it sometimes works. Not very often but sometimes.

I mostly use forward to direct the stern. Give it a hard shot forward to turn the bow and then give it a hard shot in reverse to stop the forward progress and go backwards and then neutral and hope for the best.

It's kind of a 'point an pray' approach. I always keep in mind that it just may go some direction I hadn't planned and keep an escape route open.

There's always the dingy which I use at times when backing out of a tight place to push the bow around. Once I'm headed where I want I haul the dingy aboard and continue on my merry way.
