I have seen one in....

a Nor'Sea 27. Took up most of the storage under the V birth. If, like GeneC you have a small boat, it's NOT worth the loss of storage!

For my Nor'Sea, with an underbody like GeneC's, I use a lot of power in reverse for short bursts. On Guenevere, I only get the walk when I am powering, so, after a short burst, I have steerage with no walk. At times I have to repeat the thrust/no thrust a few times. The other option I have used is to back all the way down the fairway until I am clear to maneuver.
