I'll play with both the spring line and this motoring idea tomorrow...

Looks like the local winds are from the NE, which is when I tend to get into trouble.

Normally winds are from W or NW, which is perfect for me. With NE winds, I get pushed into the slip vice stalling into the wind, and the bow gets pushed around when I try to leave.

I've been thinking "spring line" for the past couple days... you guys are just confirming it. I think the spring line idea also gives me more control, should I need to go right back into the slip. I like control.
