USharbors is owned by a locally published magazine, Maine Boats Harbors and Homes. They continue to do well in these odd times for publishing. But they have also branched out into the internet as have most successful publications.

Some of their success must be due to the fact they also cater to a larger group of the Maine interested reader. Sailing is a big part of that, but sailing alone is not a large field. They intend for this website to supply info for a broader audience. And that audience in turn, supplying the massive amount of needed info.

I don't see this website as a cruising guide although I would think it could become an important onboard tool for the cruising sailor.
