I used Picasa, the free site for a while but the photos were not as good. It down sizes them and cuts resolution more than I can do here loading them onto the CSBB. The best resolution photos are hosted from a pay for use site like Daves blog.

This likely won't help Max but I do two steps. I export them out of Iphoto at a custom size of 1000 pixels max size and they go on my desktop in Preview. They're 1000 pixels wide, but too high resolution still. I SAVE AS and preview shows a resolution slider in the window. I slide it over to just below 100kb, done. It's ready to go on the CSBB hosting.

The funny thing is, on my screen, I can't see the difference between say 200kb and 100kb in a 1000 pixels wide photo. But the resolution is not as good as one hosted on another site at higher resolution, but closer than I got on Picasa.
