Question on resizing pictures for posting here
I gave up.
100K Limit?
Correct, because I linked to my blog.
Great shot Dave. You can tell that's hosted at higher res.
Blogspot is free.
Thanks for the kind words Dave. I'm following your travels BTW. You have had more hassle than I had the whole trip!
The cool thing is you bought Driftaway for an apartment....
I don't know about smart, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
If you were living in upstate NY you'd be burning more fuel oil tonight anyway.
I hear dat.
Do you have 220 on the boat?
The boat has both 110 and 220.
Dave Evans probably has the right hunch... whether or not it's the dock, you probably lost a leg on that connection.
Bungee cords, Museum Wax & Mr. Heater.
Heater.
Keep in mind that some people don't have fast connections...
Here's your photo Dave taken and resized for uploading here.
Hmmm, after putting two windows up, clicking between your photo and mine,
I'm sticking with 1K. You can see the difference when the size is under 1000 kilobytes
I can see that fine, but I have a vivid imagination.
Max...
I use the "Save for Web" option on Photoshop when resizing for this site.
Thanks guys, I'll go that route
tinypic.com is very good, and free....(hmmmm free is good)
There are low cost graphics tools out there...
I may be crazy, but I think Phils free photo loader is a good one.
Simple really...
test
Bingo! 900 pixels wide and 98kb. Nice shot Max.

Here it is at 25.3 KB
Here it is at 12k
I think we've found 'too small'!
Max stick with 98, you lose detail as you make the file smaller.
The difference between 98K and 54K is very small though
But you're already below best viewing resolution, so you might as well get all you can.
Tom computer monitors typically are around 100 dpi...
I must have a good screen as I can see the differences.
Tom what you are seeing on the pictures above in increased jpeg compression...
Just do what I did with Daves photo above Todd.
How about this version. Less than 5k!
less than 3K!!!!
Bingo!!!!! 1K!!!!!!
Shrinking pics
