We have bungee cords all over the place. is there is an exposed shelf I put a bungee cord from one end to the other and string it through eyelets on the back. You can put coffee pots, plants and all kind of things behind it to hold it in place.

The Admiral uses Museum Wax on a shelf for small things that we don't want to move (works great).

And,, of course Mr. Heater. We love it. When we're in a cold area we hang it on a bulkhead near the companionway and it heats up the area just fine. Of course it takes one of those small canisters every day,,, but, you can hard wire it with a propane line if you use it a lot. (note,, I'd put a dedicated real boat heater on the boat but we don't like to cruise where it's cold we don't want to spend the funds to install one that would only be used 10 or 15 days a year)

We were surprised at just how well that stuff works.
