And the boat just sailed downwind, slightly sideways, as happy as could be. I was in the middle of Penobscot Bay, so there was no panic.
But it wasn't until I got both the main and headsail furled that I could get the warp onto the other side of the rudder. I think I pushed the mizzen to windward and that got the boat onto the other tack slightly, so the pull was from the other side of the rudder, and then the warp flew.
I dragged that set some distance. That was 4 years ago, I haven't had a snag since.
