Could be my imagination but I see the attitude of sinking line less hazardous Jerry.

Especially at low tide when there's apt to be the most slack between traps and buoys. Even in current, the sinking line will present less horizontal line which I see as the most likely to ride along your hull, and be pulled into the prop. Of course vertical(or more so than that of floating line) lines seem fairly benign to even rudders and keels.

No cure sinking line, but perhaps an improvement for boaters? Time will(or won't tell) tell.
