At the risk of overgeneralizing, I think there's a difference between "trawler folk" and "go fast" powerboaters

At least that's been our experience based on owning sailboats and now a trawler type powerboat. I think the mentality of those who choose trawlers is a lot closer to sailors than those whose have faster boats. We have found people on trawlers quite friendly and interested in both our sailboat and our trawler. Those on sport fisherman, etc tend to leave us alone.
