Our vessel is currently listed as an open listing with a broker out of Miami. We keep getting calls from other brokers who want us to switch to them telling us they would like to represent the boat and have a client or two that would be interested.
What I don't understand is why non listing brokers don't show the boat. Seems to me that even if the commission was shared,, 50% is better than nothing and if they have a client that's looking, why not make a deal and find the client a boat. That's their job. In 6 months not one broker has shown the boat to a perspective client. The only people to view the boat are from my broker in Miami.
So, if selling boats is a yacht brokers job and commission is shared, why has no broker shown the boat? It's listed at a good price, is in great shape and ready to cruise. There has to be interested parties out there.
