The only reason to use a broker IMHO is to get the listing on yachtworld. Never give any of these bottom feeding, useless middle-man exclusive rights. If somebody wants to see the boat, they will show it.
FWIW, I think your problem is the size and age of your boat in today's market. Cruising as we knew it is dying due to increased fees and costs and a shrinking and scared middle class. The hardy souls still out there who want to give it a try can't afford to buy or keep a boat such as yours, and the ones who can are looking at much newer ones 4-5 times the price. Leaves you in a bit of a black hole with few lookers.
Your buyer is the couple who are looking for an older 42-45 footer, but get sucked into the 50 foot range because there's little difference in price. More boat for the buck thinkers.
