Same here in Western LIS. Hydrocoat works well

Starting in July we start to get some slime but once a month wiping keeps it from getting too bad. I let it go two months in Oct/Nov and it had a pretty good slime covering but hardly any hard stuff.... Only in the centerboard trunk and bow thruster aperture where the water doesn't circulate as much. What little hard stuff pops right off.

Hydrocoat is low-VOC and roughly half the cost of comparable ablatives, and works just as well. The only one that works better in my experience is Micron 66 but it is SALT WATER ONLY. If you use Micron 66 in fresh or brackish water it deactivates permanently (I was told this on the phone by Interlux tech support). That means you can't take it in the upper Chesapeake or up a river. Otherwise I'd use it. My experience with Micron 66 (one season) was zero slime and zero growth, no wiping required.
