ideas on how to read fuel level in Al tank?

None of my tanks have sensors on them... I can look directly into the water tank, and see the level there... so not too much of a problem.

I can see the outside of the polypropylene holding tank and get an idea of the level in there.

But for my fuel tank, I can't see through it nor into it, and the only way I have to figure out the level of fuel is with a long dipstick... which sort of works. (I need a better dip stick... or a level indicator)

So I am wondering is there a good system or tank monitor that I can use on an Aluminum tank? I have ready access to the top of the tank, but not to the sides. My little 2GM20F sips fuel, so this is not a terribly pressing problem... Just wondering if there are any good solutions. (other than a better dipstick)
