ideas on how to read fuel level in Al tank?
More on this... just dawned on me...
simple add on solution
Hey Gene
Sounds like what I am looking for...
Craig, see if this is what you had...
No.
I have the Moeller mechanical in aluminum tank
There is one inspection port...
Moeller Unit
THAT'S IT!!!!!
Wait.....that's the one I used on the Islander
You can get the options for the sender and local readings, I believe.

Better dipstick
I hear ya, I just thought the simplicity of a mechanical gauge...
If simplicity is the issue, then a sight guage is best
Sight gauge requires access to the side of the tank... Mechanical float gauge only requires access to top.
A surveyor once told me a sight gage doesn't meet "code"
true.
I'm not sure that USCG does have those regs for DIESEL tanks.
Drain in the bottom works well
It's not easy, when ABYC makes you pay to read
Site Guages are Allowed (as are bottom drians) for Diesel Tanks by H-33 (see below)
Sight (not 'site') ;^))))
