I’m currently running a Cabo Rico 42 north, a gorgeous boat… HOWEVER...

This is my view seated at the helm… I found that by perching myself atop 2 throwable cushions, I can get a perfectly aligned view of the horizon through the 3/4 inch high slit between the top of the plotter, and the instruments…

There’s also a bimini which restricts my headroom while standing, so I’ve been keeping that folded back out of the way for the most part… Moving to either side doesn’t work too well, the seating position is way too low to see well enough at least on the ICW, and also requires getting up for every adjustment of the autopilot, which is barely within reach even seated directly at the helm… No remote, of course…

If ever there was a trip that might turn me into one of those bobbleheads, this could be it… (grin)
