until I had a mishap with my last one. I built a nesting Spindrift that turned out to be very awkwark to carry on the fordeck so we towed it. It towed very well and only cost us about .5 knot. Unfortunately, we were towing it down the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia when the wind and waves built to the point that it broached on a wave face and snapped the line. It was impossible to retrieve then-although we got it back a few days later. After that, I got an inflatable that I carry on the foredeck and only tow on the shortest of sails. We need a boat that carries 4 and a dog so it works well but I miss rowing around in a good dinghy. I also have a 7.5' Nutshell stored in the shop which is a great dinghy for two; I bet the bigger ones are ideal!
