Paperwork Cha-Cha rant....

I have often heard complaints about the paperwork in Mexico and other foreign ports. As a matter of fact, I might have grumbled about it myself.

BUT, today I have to say that the US can hold it's own!

After about 13 years or so, we needed a new Portaboat dink. So, as long as I found a sale I ordered one. I ordered it from a place in California, but had it sent to us in Arizona.

Today I went to the motor vehicle department (about 19.9 miles each way) to register it and get a title. Waited in line for about 30 min. Then got to the window and was told that they ONLY did things with wheels. They sent me to the department of game and fish. Off I go on a 15 mile trip. I got there, wait in line for a short 10 or 15 min. The guy looks at my paperwork and tells me I have not paid state sales tax. So, tells me I have to go to another place (about 20 miles each away) and then return with a receipt, then he can let me pay my fee and get a title.

Paperwork run around to match any I had to do in Mexico!

Just a rant!
