Twice a year the science teachers take ~25 kids on this adventure. You can enter the lottery in 6th grade. You will definitely get a chance to go by 8th. It was a blast. For the most part it was a great group of kids. The crew was amazing at keeping them in action from 6:30AM to 9:00PM every day. It was an incredible learning experience for the kids and chaperones. It was very hands on for the kids in every way. They worked hard setting and striking sails, taking care of the ship, learning about marine biology, navigation, sailing, oceanography, etc. The only bummer thing was that the wind was hit and miss. The super-pods of dolphins took the edge off of that though.
