I would leave it. When I did my testing I used a stanchion and flexed it 100's of times in both cold and hot temps. The caulk version did allow water under the stanchion base where the tape did not. Dolphinite & 4200 also did not pass muster. The caulk eventually leaked but this was pretty serious testing probably representing a few years worth of people pulling and tugging on your stanchions... Course most people are not getting their stanchions worked over at 10F... Some items will do fine with it other can have more potential for a leak. It is still a decent product, better than say Dolphinite, but still not as good as a premium tape. The tape is harder to , for sure, be we own a 34 year old boat that nearly 80% of the boat has never been re-bedded. It shipped from the factory 100% bedded in butyl tape including the hull deck joint.. It has been the absolute driest boat we have ever owned.. I did re-do our chain plates at year 32 more to inspect them, and in 32 years which included a 5 year 24/7/365 world cruise they have never leaked. Our genny tracks are still un-rebedded and 100% bone dry...
One option in cold is to use tape around the bolts/countersink in the deck, and around the perimeter of the device being bedded, and then the caulk on the rest.
