Then I will stand corrected on the 2 micron engine filter.

You are much more of a researcher on specifications than I am. I tend to go with my gut feeling and reasoning quite a bit. Example,, If I were to change the oil as the Perkins manual says it would be every 250 hours instead of every 100.

I have an Italian friend who once said (Italian accent needed when you read it). "I bought a da boat for da 'wonder' of the world, existance anda my place in it. Now I 'wonder' when all dis shit is going to break and it's a all too complicated for da original ting I wanted to do." This is a guy who traveled the world for 13 years on his Landfall 48 before GPS. I agree with him. Cruising is suppose to be a personal gratifying experience. Once you complicate it the magic goes away.

I like our simple filter system and installed it as I didn't want to need to swap out engine mounted filters while underway. Funny, many install a complicated system of fuel switching so filters can be swapped without stopping the engine. I've never understood the concept as it just makes for more things to maintain and break and the engine mounted filter can still clog stalling it. I've looked at the engine filters on our 6-354 for 4 years now and they still look new. I can only reason that nothing is getting through our daisy chained and large 2 micron Racor. I change both the 10 and 2 Racors when they look like they need it and have not had any problems, ever and this is 3d world fuel delivered out of rusty buckets in panga's. I don't understand why people have filter problems unless they don't change them when needed or don't filter unknown quality fuel while it's going in.
