Has the rescue video been posted on YouTube yet...?

Hi Don,

Just a matter of time, before the Annapolis Boat Show features a CRUISING WORLD seminar on "How to Safely Effect the Transfer from an Abandoned Yacht to a Cruise Ship/Merchant Vessel as Sea"... (grin) Really is astonishing, how commonplace these rescues seem to have become...

Sorry, but this one doesn't surprise me one bit... I had a look at their blog after they arrived in Mindelo after losing the rudder for the second time, and was surprised at how "hands off" and cavalier they seemed to be about the ongoing repair, TO A RUDDER THAT HAD ALREADY FAILED TWICE, AND IN PREPARATION FOR PROBABLY THE MOST DEMANDING TRADEWIND PASSAGE IN THE WORLD... They had moved off the boat into an apartment, and in describing their daily routine, it seemed they only bothered to take a stroll over to the boatyard at the end of each day, to inquire about the progress - or lack thereof - that was being made... Amazed me, that they apparently were so trusting of such a critical repair, being made in a 3rd world facility...

I've always had a high regard for the CS 36, it would be a shame if all the troubles they've had with theirs diminishes its reputation in the eyes of sailors looking for a capable, no-nonsense boat...

I don't know, some folks should just choose to cross oceans on a Dockwise ship, instead... Go the cutting edge, it's the future of World Kroozing, after all... (grin)

best regards,

Jon
