Unbelievable!!! My buddy, who was sailing around the Atlantic was just rescued by an oil tanker, mid Atlantic
They have had more than their share of bad luck.

They're like an old rusty door hinge. A few screws can fall out, the pin can break, it still swings.

The CS' rudder (like the Valiant 40's) is a modified skeg rudder.
You can't compare the strength of a rudder design like that to the old barn door rudder, Steve.
The barn door is, if nothing else, strong ;^)))
