Perhaps I'm a bit over the top but of all the places we've been the Abacos are at the bottom of the list.

We have an 6' draft and couldn't get to many places the charts said we could. Power boats rented with cottages were zipping through all the anchorages, the water was green and the local cruising net was mostly for people that rented those cottages. We had been cruising for 10 years and had always wanted to go to the Abacos. We did on our last cruise before putting TD up for sale.

We should have gone back to the Exumas.

OK,,,, it's not terrible if you haven't been anywhere but once you've traveled a bit the Abacos have no appeal. A bit like living in LA and thinking Catalina Island is wonderful cruising.

Perhaps it's because it was the 'last dance'.
