But if I could only have one . . . Probably would still go with AIS. Radar misses a lot of targets too, and takes a lot of concentration to interpret.

But making landfall on a fogbound coast, I would take radar hands down. Always like some local conformation that what the chartplotter is telling me is real before getting in among the rocks.
