As both ambition and ability are on the decline, I start to wonder about what boat comes next. I rather like the Cape Dory 25D; seems to provide adequate accommodations for a week or two of coastal cruising and it must be both easier and less expensive to maintain than my current 34 footer. Will the reduced sailing performance outweigh these advantages?

I'm curious to know which smaller coastal cruisers do you all think about as the next 'step down' boat?
