In Response To: Is there water in the tank? ()

In PA, "off road" diesel means the price does not include road tax and the fuel has red dye so if you are running off-road fuel in an on-road vehicle and the DOT checks your tank, it tells them you are not paying road tax. I always buy my fuel from the largest retailer in the area so I figure it is fresh.

As far as water in the fuel, I can't answer that question. I assume not as there is no access to the tank where you could check......The first mechanic asked if I had added biocide in the fall, I did add that Starbrite stabil product, I have no history with it though, no idea how well it works. I thought it was an unusual thing not to have a water/fuel seperator but at the same time, the original owner ran it that way since 1985 so I figured it was OK.
