I'm still pondering the "mirror, mirror" reference, I think that went over my head............

It is NOT the injectors as diagnosed, they were sent out, serviced, replaced amd nothing has changed. The current diagnosis is a bad lift pump. There is diesel fuel in the oil, the mechanic belives that a seal let go in the pump and is sending fuel into the oilpan. I don't see how that would cause clouds of sooty smoke, lack of power and throttle response though?
