A cruising friends Fontaine Puegot (sorry if I spelled it wrong) spent some time on a reef. He's here in Panama SB Marina getting repairs effected. He reported that FB describes the keels as sacrificial. If that's the case then they simply need to make sure the hull is ok and head downwind or motor where they can effect repairs.
