Tom is correct and a bit of my thought.....
In Response To: Nor'sea 27 it looks like. ()

Tom Young is correct, it is Teresa Carey. It is her on her Nor'Sea that she used to own. She used to sail in company with her boy friend Ben who owned a BCC. It was a sight to see both sail together and there are some Youtube videos out there that they shot of each other sailing. Unfortunately, she has sold her Nor'Sea and Ben sold his BCC and they are now looking for a larger boat together. I thought they were very unique sailing together! Sort of like another couple we knew of that sailed a Nor'Sea and a Flicka through the South Pacific.

As to space aboard, it's hard to describe. When Jill suggested we move aboard in 1996, I told her all she had to do was ask, and we would stay in a hotel for a few days to get more space. She NEVER asked! Every 6 months to a year, we talk over the subject of a larger boat, or..... How does the song go, STILL HAPPY after all these years.

Jill and I have sailed a lot of other boats over the years. We have not been as comfortable on any of the others as we have been aboard Guenevere, our Nor'Sea 27. We DO NOT "camp out" aboard, it's been our home for years. We also look at MAY factors into what we consider comfort. Like feeling in a seaway, at anchor, and handling ability, not for just me, but for Jill alone if something happens to me. And not just on a nice day!

Take that aft cabin that a lot of people call useless, it can be a private space, a library, and office...... etc...

Due to circumstance beyond our control, we now have a house also, but still feel at home aboard Guenevere. We are now cruising part time, Just finished up a great time back in the SF Bay area. Had a GREAT time visiting with Rob and LaDonna! We then towed Guenevere back here to Az. and she is in a yard for about $50.00 a month. We are in the planning stages for next year. A tow to the New Orleans area for Mardai Gras and then cruise over to the west coast of Florida till hurricane season starts. Then a tow back here. For us, it's very comforting knowing we can sail in most any condition safely, circle the globe, then tow cross country if we chose to, and have very low cost storage when NOT cruising.

I guess you could also say we consider Guenevere as our life long boat, not just a stepping stone along the way.

Did I rant to long????

Greg
