Yes it's 1/4". I replaced the 6mm with 1/4 cable last year but didn't see the need to deal with the nets at that time. This year I need to replace some polyester webbing and will try to push out the old tubing before I give it to the shop who'll do the sewing. If I can't they might need to open those seams and re-sew.

Will use Tenara GoreTex thread, in multiple rows. Been there with polyester thread and it doesn't hold up to the sun.
