Double sink and doing dishes without a watermaker.
In Response To: Good question ()

Since we carried 350 gallons of water we decided not to install a watermaker. We could go at least 6 weeks before we needed water (if it didn't rain) and by then we were looking for a marina for a day or 2. One of the ways we extended our water usage was with an electric salt water pump in the galley. When dishes needed to be done I'd fill one side of the sink 1/3 with sea water and wash the dishes with a standard detergent. I'd plug the second side drain and rinse the dishes with fresh water in #2 side keeping the fresh water with detergent in the sink for other uses.

A double sink worked really nice that way. Salt water on one side and fresh water on the other. You could just use the manual pump but pumping to get water doesn't work for me. I'd rather flip a switch and have an endless supply.
