inboard sink area ALL the time for a workbench/space, not heavy duty, but placing tools, like you say working on a pump, a wire connection, and so on. Very convenient spot moving all around the boat to keep stuff when not sailing. I usually put the teak insert on top or a piece of Ply.
Tom > I don't have that Mixer, that photo of another T40 for sale … mine is a new one from Scandvik and only 2" or so diameter, which helps, but as you say this entire block pretty much useless.
Off to Florida next week, so not being there I can't tell exactly what I have for space, and what will be available for sink choices & sizes. But I'm really liking all the ideas & suggestions you've mentioned, as well as others. I'm sure hoping I can get the Mixer/Valve behind the one sink to port.
Another thing to consider is we're hurting for drawer space, for nice knives and other utensils, I'm hoping to get a nice deep drawer in the space the inboard sink takes up now. Under that is my pull-out Trash Bin. And because of that, I can't get a very deep sink in this location, if I was to consider this spot as the only sink location.
Cheers, John
