We have gone simple in a lot of ways on Tappan Zee no electric water pump, no refrigeration but I do want to keep a solenoid. A big reason is that I have a bathroom fan 60 minute timer in line with the solenoid control so the unit turns itself off even if I or Annie forgets. No more lying in bed or worse off the boat trying to remember whether the valve is off.
