I had a 12 volt to 22 volt adaptor for the computer.

There are so many times when an inverter that accesses all the 120 plugs is useful when living aboard. We had a large boat and added a 2,500 watt Heart inverter/charger soon after purchasing her. I would think that a smaller combo unit would be worth the investment. If not a combo then a good 1,000 watt dedicated inverter.

Many just don't want an inverting system but we liked our creature comforts and there's nothing like just plugging a 120 volt device into an outlet and having it work. I have a couple of problem areas in my mouth and used a Water Pic. Just for stuff like that. Hell, we even had a small 120 volt coffee percolator for our morning coffee. Since it only took about 5 minutes to make coffee it only used a few amp hours.

We tried going 12 volt but it's a hassle and most of the time stuff that works at home and also runs on 12 volts just doesn't exist. If it does its $$ more although that TV/VCR Max posted looks pretty good
