one for the jib, one for the stays'l on the port side (and these are not the reel type winches either) and one for, I think, the spin halyard on the starboard side. (I have not flown a chute on this boat yet).
I'd have to increase the line length a bit to use the winch... and I'd have to add a clutch to lock the outhaul... but, hey, that isn't a bad idea.
I have cleats on the side of the boom right now... I can't think of a way I could wrap the line in one of those cleats and use the halyard after the cleat... so I think a clutch is the only answer.
My main halyard is run down the deck to the cabin top and I use the halyard and clutch right there for raising/lowering the main.
I actually have 7 winches on the boat. 2 on the cabin top, 2 larger primaries on the gun'ale, and three on the mast. One of these days I have to figure out where to secure the tack for a spinnaker on that boat (or at least a gennaker). I have runners too, but have never quite figured out where to secure those... but I bet they would be great when flying a chute. It really is a fun little boat.
