Gene, The way mine works is the line from the back of the boom (inside)

coming forward goes through a block at the end of the boom, down to a block at the bottom of the mast, through a cam cleat up over a block on the mast above the winch and down to and around the winch. This way I can put my back into pulling the line prior to putting it on the which and it aligns with the winch properly. If it doesn't line up with the winch right you will get over rides which is a PITA in the middle of the night. Off to Costa Rica in an hour. See ya all later.
