For some credit card where there was this scene in a fast food place. Cute music played while the preparers, servers, customers and cashiers moved in a high speed intricate dance UNTIL someone paid cash. The joke then was that most places they ran your card and you waited for the little dot matrix printer to get a response. That took a long time. The future caught up a while back. Now it seems that in a lot of places people don't know what to do when you give them those quaint paper things.
I can relate to Steve's comment. The only real cash I now have is my off-the-record boat fund accumulated there and there and kept in a secret box.
