When you use cash to purchase items from local stores the fact that you use of cash raises your status and gives you far more respect than those who use a credit card. People respect cash over plastic. That is a well documented fact.

Unfortunately, like Steve S/V Brendon, my wife doesn't let me carry much cash. If I had my way I'd always pay with cash carrying around at least $100.00 at all times. I'd like to get respect from somewhere and the clerk at my local store is good enough for me and probably the only way I'll get any.
