A lot of boats I see these days have what amounts to a poop deck on the back.

() As I understand it, that was one of the original reasons for a poop deck, added windage aft to keep her head up in a blow. Many boats out there have full enclosure, radar arch, solar, dinghy, etc. and don't seem to need any more!
