One casual report said they were motorsailing.

The captain thought something was wrong(no description of what), and shut the engine down.
A check of systems etc. showed everything was ok. So they started the engine back up, and the lithium ion batteries ignited.
Nothing(extinguishers) they had onboard would put the fire out. There were boats nearby that took them off.
