I have used Bosch, DeWalt, Makita and a few others over the years. The Makita tool line is always nicely done and long lasting too. My DeWalt drills are still kind of hanging in after about 15 years of abuse but they are pretty tired, and the Bosch stuff is good.
For use on a boat? I'd buy cheap and expect it to loose the battle to salt air eventually. My Festoon drill is the nicest drill I have ever used. It is on the boat now as I am getting ready for launch but it will come home afterward. Feature for feature I have never used anything like it. Multiple heads give it great versatility, battery charge lasts and lasts and you have to experience an electric clutch (for setting screw torque) to believe how nice it is! Way too expensive though so I hope it lasts....
