I think you know that I would urge you to get an Engel unit. Low draw.

One thing that I see missing from this thread is USAGE data. When we installed our unit in the San Francisco Bay area, we had solar panels that would keep us up for weeks with no problem. When we were in the Sea of Cortez in the summer, we did an interesting experiment.

We spent 3 days without opening the box. Not once! The solar panels were still keeping up with the draw.

When we were actively using the box, the solar panels were very much lacking!!! NOT because we were letting hot air into the box so much as we were cooling off bottles of water. I am NOT talking freezing cold, just a drop of about 20 degrees F. We normally drink room temp water. But in the Sea, with air temp over 100 and sea water temp over 95, we just could not drink un-cooled water.

Just another data point.
