Spent a few days in Long Island -- first Huntington Bay/Northport, then Hempstead/Sea Cliff.
This Macgregor 26 was getting his money's worth from a light-air morning.
Then a deep reach, tacking downwind to Hempstead Harbor. We landed at the Sea Cliff YC dock and walked the boardwalk. Behind the boardwalk is a flight of steps that go about 250 feet up the cliff to town. A bit of a workout. This view is the reward for the exercise, looking north. There just happens to be a trimaran in each of these pictures.
The tall buildings in the distance are New Rochelle, NY on the other side of LIS. This is the extreme western end of Long Island Sound and it gets pretty narrow here. It's close to City Island (just a little to the left/west from new Rochelle). About 10 miles from here are the Throgs Neck and Whitestone bridges.
