Funny you bring that up Tom. Going 100% against the Army Corp predictions, our water is so high the ramps to the docks are level, if the wind is coming from the West, you have to walk UP the ramp to the dock now. Who knew?? I guess we didn't have to sell the Islander after all.
The algae is a whole other issue that really puzzles me. The water temp in the lake is hovering around 72* which is low for this time of year. There have been issues with phosphates from soaps and fertilizers for a long time but I never recall the algae blooms and the effort clean up the lake has really seemed to be working the last 10+ years?? What we have done at the club is break out the winter bubblers and set them up in areas of the basin that have poor water circulation. The water movement seems to really help a lot. Two years ago we had a mess, as one member put it , "it looks like everyone's bottom paint fell off" the algae was bad.
