I bet if you wanted to remove that hose to do some normal work, you would have to cut it off the barb to remove it! At least that is the way it always works on our boat - any hose that the clamps don't break on are impossible to remove off the barb anyway.

The clamps always seem to know which specific hoses will come off their barbs easily and they organize themselves in your parts inventory so that the weak ones get the slippery hoses.
