Also you can do a lot in "settings" to save power

You can dim the display, let various components sleep when not used for x minutes, reduce clock speed on the CPU or allow it to run variable based on load. If you have the screen brightness all the way up, and have all the settings to "high performance" it will definitely use more. But it's good to know the range and the only way is to actually measure. All power bricks get a little warm.
