He notes that this area was originally one of the 'Exclusion Zones' on this leg, similar to having to keep a minimum distance from the waters off Somalia... But, due to the development of the tropical storm, the race organizers took the decision to allow the fleet to enter that area in order to deep a greater distance from the weather - which could help account for the lack of prior route planning thru those waters... Still, amazing to hear the skipper ask someone else if they had all the necessary paper charts for those waters, and the reply seemed to be to the effect of "Well, we have some..."

Towards the end of the video, he scrolls thru the different zoom levels of the reefs/islands... They had actually planned pretty well in advance, drawing what seems to be a DO NOT ENTER 'box' around the area...
