CP-180i using C-Map has a route check. After you put in a route at any level of zoom, you have an option of route check and it comes up with warnings if you are close to a danger. It MIGHT be in the C-Map chart cartridge?? Not sure.

I used it a couple of times this year in the Gulf of Mexico. It worked OK I guess. I also have and use OpenCPN with new downloaded free NOAA charts of US waters AND I have a 7 inch tablet with a nav program and charts. The "MyNOAAChars" app worked well.

**** BUT **** I still carry (and use) paper charts!!!!! ALL THE TIME!!!
