One of our friends from the club came up to the cabin to hang out for the weekend. It was one of those talks that two old guys have when the young guys are out roaming the mountains like we used to do. He and I have been boaters for 30+ years, he even more so holding a captains license and doing commercial work. We wondered how we both got old so fast, the years just seemed to fly by. We were both talking about the things we used to do and what things have become more difficult......he currently has an Egg Harbor 36 and is seriously thinking of downsizing by this spring because he hates trying to handle the boat by himself. Being the boat driver, docker, anchoring person, maintenance guy and bottom painting hull waxer neither of us get a lot of help from the Admirals because they also got older somehow. Our kids are grown and have their own lives which pretty much don't include boating with mom and dad anymore. It was one of those sobering conversations where you can find yourself looking closer to the end than the beginning..........
